The students in Year 9 have been looking at the context of the Miners Strike while studying Billy Elliot in their Drama lessons. In order to fully understand the feelings of the miners and how angry they were about the government wanting to close the pits and forcing them to go on strike, we recreated this moment at the picket line using still images and whole class role play.
