RISE Up and Shine
Layla Air, Warren Ayre, Connor Hall and Ben Nesbit from our year 12 Geography cohort climbed Brund Fell in Borrowdale, ascending 340m. Along the way they were investigating factors influencing infiltration rates, this took them on a journey through ancient woodland, coniferous plantation and finally to the mighty peat bog at the summit. They measured soil types, carbon storage in trees, infiltration rates and peat bog depth. The weather was fantastic and allowed for clear views across a very dramatic Glacial landscape. Our geographers showed tenacity, drive and great team work. Well done!
